Getting Started with AWDS

Before you start your lessons, you must make sure that you have a valid provisional license or a legal entitlement to drive in the UK for the vehicle that you will be driving. There must be no medical reason why you cannot drive and if you need to wear glasses or contact lenses. You must ensure you wear them for all your lessons and don’t forget to wear suitable footwear.

Your lesson checklist

  1. Take your driving license.

  2. Take your glasses or contact lenses if needed.

  3. Give at least 48 hours. Notice to cancel or reschedule a lesson.

  4. Have your personal record book ready for every lesson.

  5. Wear suitable footwear.

What you can expect from us

  1. Recommend the very latest training methods and aids to help you study for your Theory and Hazard Perception Test.

  2. Designer course of practical training to match your specific needs form your first lesson through to your practical test.

  3. Provide relevant feedback during your lesson and at the conclusion of each record your development in your personal record book.

  4. Monitor your progress advise and recommend the appropriate time to apply for your Practical Driving Test.

  5. Provide training on a one-to-one basis, with no other learner drivers in the car.

  6. Honour full-time for each lesson, covering an introduction, the practical training your debriefing.

  7. Always behave in a professional manner, whilst also having authority to refuse or end a lesson early, abide by law and not discriminate against any learner.

  8. Provide a presentable, modern property maintained, dual control car on every lesson.

  9. Always endeavour to be on time and to agree meeting points and be available for the full duration of lessons booking, subject to unforeseen circumstances beyond his or her control.

  10. Endeavour to give at least 48 hours’ notice should a lesson need to be scheduled due to circumstances beyond his or her control.

  11. Respond professionally to any worries or issues which you may have regarding your lessons and to try to resolve them to your satisfaction.
